Speaking for the committee, I will even if they disagree, which they probably won't:  YOUR COMMENTS about our reunion express better than any of us can, how much this reunion has meant to us, also.  The first one is from Evelyn Estes, aka Catstone Tree, and says it all....but I will publish your comments also!

Moved this one up front for obvious reasons:

Hey Sid--

I guess I am way too late but I really meant to write a note to Vincent and Pat thanking them for the nice evening at your reunion. My handwriting is so hopeless, though, that I just don't get it done. I thought you all did a tremendous job getting so many to attend and to take care of everything so well. I was hoping more faces would seem familiar to me but it was delightful to recognize as many as I could and to have so many recognize me without giving me trouble for making them take showers (like the class of '55 did! Such is the fate of a gym teacher.) I spent most of the evening looking at name tags but could recognize a few without them--Barbara Allen, Eloisa, Judy , Ky, Jon, Ted, John D.--but with most I was lost. Peggy Moser looked great and we had a nice conversation but she doesn't look like I remembered her. I loved talking to Ed Chew and was impressed with how Chiefie and Vincent have stayed so youthful looking--no extra weight on them. And it was nice that Pat and Vincent sat down with the old folks at dinner--and such a good dinner. Thanks again for including me/

Well, I had a fabulous time!!!  It was indeed wonderful to see you all again, especially for me after so many years.  How the hell did it get to be 50 years later..... half a century????   Thanks to all on the committee for what I know to be a lot of hard work, planning, and coordinating.  You did a fantastic job!!!  It certainly enabled me to really relax and enjoy the time I was able to spend with some of you.  Even with all the events, I still didn't get enough time to spend talking to everyone...... someday.....   Every day I am amazed when I think of my age...........  I can't believe I'm 68...... then I get out of bed and discover I have to learn how to walk all over again, so I get my first reality check of the day.  But as I may have told many of you, I love my life, it is an experience that I really like. And I so appreciate all of you being in my life from ages 12 (for some) or 14 through 18.  I'm still looking for the right words to express how my experience in high school - with the teachers, and the education, and the atmosphere - such a focus on our being prepared to meet life and be successful - and for all of you and your input into the process, whatever form it took.  (well, that's a beginning, and I'll write more to you all when I get it better assimilated into the language).  I could indeed never have come to this place in which I find myself now, contented, supported, peaceful, without that beginning.  So glad it was you who were there. , CatStone

I'm just reading e-mail after our wonderful week in Coronado and surrounds.  Dick and I agree it was the best reunion either he or I have ever attended, and that includes his own. We are still re-living specific moments, conversations, scenes and feelings of our three days with all of you. I can't adequately express our appreciation for the folks on the committee who planned every detail and hosted the wonderful gatherings and picked up all the pieces when it was over.
Dick and I went to the Oceanside Surfing Museum Monday on our way out of town to see Tommy's photos.  We were astounded and totally impressed with all that he has been and done since we graduated. He is an extremely talented photographer, and there is a real historical value to his work. If you haven't been there already and you live in the vicinity, it is a MUST!
I do have some digital photos I'll send along, and will be anxiously awaiting the unveiling of others' pix on the website.
In my Sweet Adeline's chorus here we are singing "This Could Be The Start of Something Great", and I believe that is true for the class of '56. There's another barbershop song called "Let's Get Together Again", and I heartily recommend that one!  We shouldn't wait too long, ya' know! Sacramento is a nice place to meet, and there are enough of us up here to plan another gathering and take the load off the So. Cal crew. How about in 2008?
Love to all of you,
Frannie

From Barbara Allen Conklin

Hi to you all,

I want to add my congratulations to all the other messages that have already been sent. Jim and I have been up in the mountains almost the entire time since I returned from Coronado, trying to escape the Sacramento Valley heat.

We came down the hill to catch up on laundry, mail (and email), etc. and I found all these great messages from many of you.

Wasn't that the best weekend possible? Now that I've finally gotten myself to a reunion, I can hardly wait for more. I agree that 2008 is definitely something we have to do. Maybe not so grand --- how could anything be as great as the one the committee just did? Although I agree with Frannie that the committee needs a rest, I can't imagine having a reunion anywhere but Coronado. I guess that's pretty selfish on my part. Frannie and Genie, maybe the three of us could get together up here and do some of the detail planning to take the load off the Coronado group. (Let's get together anyway, whether we're planning a reunion or not.)

The most important thing I need to say is, a milliion thanks to the committee for a truly fabulous weekend. Somehow just "thanks" isn't enough.

You are all truly dedicated, terrific people to put in all that time and work for all of us. Every single detail was perfect. I think you all have set a standard for reunions that will never be matched. I have raved about the weekend so much (and I only got to 2/3 of the parties) that friends up here are asking for details so that they can tell their reunion committees how it should be done.

Barry, I didn't know you live in Redding. I guess you know where Chico is.

If you and your wife are ever in the area, let me know and we can get together.

It was so good to see all of you. Naturally there wasn't enough time to talk to each of you as much as I would have liked. Hope we have another chance soon.

Sid, I'll call you ahead of time next time I know I'll be coming to Coronado. Maybe we can have lunch or something. I guess I don't want to fade back into oblivion now that I've seen you all again.

Thanks, committee, for making the reunion truly brilliant (as the English say). You are all terrific.

Barbara

Hi Sid:
For fear of excluding someone unintentionally, I am hoping you will forward my thanks and appreciation to the reunion committee for a wonderful reunion weekend. All of the events were so well planned and seemed to go without a hitch. Even the weather was well orchestrated! It was great fun seeing everyone from our wonderful class and I believe we really are a special group.
Doris and I discussed the reunion events all the way home and began thinking of the next one.
Love to you all, Terry Summers

Note from Ed:  Doris sent this from our website.  I have deleted her email address, home address and phone number.  If you would like to contact Doris, email me and I will send the data to you.

To all the members of our wonderful Class of 56 Planning Committee, thank you all so very much for arranging such a fabulous 50th Reunion. I feel so privileged to be a part of such a dynamic group of people.

The whole reunion was magical. It was as if we had never been apart. Talking to everyone brought back so many wonderful memories and what a joy it was to see where everyone was and how happy they are.

Special thanks to Sidney for keeping us all informed via E-mail and snail mail, to George for handling the money, to Vince and Pat for all their work and opening their home to us for that wonderful evening of dinner and dancing, to Chiefie and Sue for the delightful Pool Party/Mexican Fiesta, and to Eddie and Carlene for working so hard to put together the Memory Book. It was a memorable get together and each and every member of the committee deserves our special thanks. It was terrific!

I wish I lived closer so that I could be of help. Again, I thank you all for everything.

Love to all,

Doris
